That is why it is so important to do your monthly self-breast exams and get to your doctor immediately if any changes have occurred.
The vast majority of breast lumps is not cancerous and is simply cysts or increased fibroid tissue. A biopsy is required to identify the lump. Having a biopsy will put your mind at ease and let you know exactly if it is cancerous or not. If you have a concern and your physician will not order a biopsy, listen to your inner self and insist on having one or seek another physician’s opinion. It is imperative that you know for sure because early detection is a life saver. If you are diagnosed with having breast cancer, do seek out support groups and wellness centers to achieve on going support of your disease. Your local physician or hospital may guide you to these programs. If there is not one in your area, you may even want to start your own.
