About Biofeedback
by BogieHere is an article on Biofeedback. I hope you find the information useful! Doctors base biofeedback treatment on the idea that the mind and body function as a unified field. By undergoing biofeedback it is used to help you detach from thoughts and/or actively changing them. The practice of biofeedback is used to teach you how to control certain body responses. Participation in a biofeedback session will consist of a trained therapist placing sensors or electrodes to various areas of your body. These sensors are attached to a device that monitor your responses and give you visual or auditory feedback. For example, you may see patterns on a monitor that will display your levels or brain activity, heart rate, muscle tension, breathing pattern, blood pressure or skin temperature.
When you undergo biofeedback therapy, you learn how to produce positive changes in body functions such as lowering your blood pressure and relaxing you muscles. The therapist will also use relaxation techniques to further calm you and develop and even breathing pattern. It is fun and very useful in learning how to control your thoughts and relaxing those muscles. Biofeedback is used for many conditions such as anxiety, hypertension, stress relief, bladder control, etc. all by focusing on relaxing thoughts and techniques. Biofeedback Resources:
