Alane worked in healthcare for over 30 years as a right hand assistant to physicians in direct patient care. She often found her patients so confused about their medications, hospitalizations and testing she decided to get them organized. Even though she would give the patients copies of all their test results, write out medication lists and review treatments, her patients still seemed to get confused because they would misplace their reports or patient education materials and miss out on their prescribed treatments. Many of her patients were seeing multiple specialists and couldn’t remember exactly who or what the other doctors were treating or testing them for and this became a problem causing duplication of care and medications.
